Tragedies Turned Into Advocacy

One of the things I remember most when meeting the Common Voices Advocates for the first time was the strength exhibited by all as the stories were shared. As a mother of two, I can only imagine the loss and how it affects so many. The starfish theme of making a difference describes the work of Common Voices in so many ways. I would like to begin this discussion as an opportunity for those who have been directly affected by fire to share their stories. Perhaps the words shared here in this forum will provide hope for someone whom we do not even know yet....someone who is just beginning the journey from tragedy to advocacy. So, please....open up your hearts and share. I also encourage our fire service leaders to share in this forum. Many times, it is you who prompts family members to become advocates....and it is you who begins the transition for the advocates. We salute you all!
