I often think of how the Common Voices
Coalition was formed. Simply stated, we brought this special
group of advocates together and opened up a dialogue with no
preconceived notions.
The advocates were quick to respond. They knew exactly what
they wanted....to work progressively to save lives through
education regarding fire sprinklers and how they work. Quite
honestly, the goal is to prevent others from having to
suffer the tragedy.
There is much work to do, but this Coalition IS MAKING A
DIFFERENCE. My salute goes to all six members----Vina,
Donna, Gail, Donna, Justina and Amy....you have changed my
life for the better and I enjoy being on your team as we
move forward with your vision.
I can't wait to see what the "Voices" have to say about this
new feature of www.fireadvocates.org --- this is going to be
a wonderful new way for us to communicate with the world! |

Vickie - I am so excited to be chosen to
help with such a worthwhile mission. I firmly believe that
the greater the experience - the greater the calling to
service. I can't wait to see the difference this group will
make - one step at a time - throughout the whole world! See
ya in DC! |

I have just finished the final details for
Common Voices on the Hill.....one day and
counting....anticipation is such a funny emotion. I realize
the significance of this event. I have jokingly said that
this is like Mrs. Smith goes to Washington times SIX!!!! I
can't wait for the advocates to share their stories with
Senators and Congressmen who serve on the Senate Finance
Committee and/or the House Ways and Means Committee. The
Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act is in those respective
committees, and it will take understanding from those on the
respective committees to move it forward to a full floor
vote. If you are reading our blog as a visitor....there is a
way that you can help! Please click on the link on our home
page that says Click here to go to Cap Wiz. This program
makes it easy for you to send an electronic letter to your
Senator and Congressman and that really makes a difference.
We need your help!
Check back often for updates -- we will post all progress
made on this site!
Thank you in advance to all advocates....for sharing your
story, opening up your heart and working hard to help policy
makers understand that America has a fire problem, but there
is a solution....FIRE SPRINKLERS!
Cheers, Vickie

I am curious as to your thoughts on how to
best promote our Common Voices Coalition and share with
others the great work that you are all doing. Thoughts,
Ideas, Comments?

Vickie,
I wanted to thank you for the recent program presentation
that you made to the National Fallen Firefighter's
Foundation, "Everyone Goes Home" - Life Safety Advocates.
Please keep our Program leadership informed of your
activities and opportunities for us to work together to
improve fire safety for BOTH the public & our nations
firefighters.
While we may be working on different angles of the problem,
we have a great chance of meeting in the middle where both
sides will benefit.
